Local Biz

Multikulti shops and likes to support the following local businesses:
(All these shops are within a block of walking distance from multikulti.)

1. Carniceria, 1053 N Ashland Ave, We enjoy affordable tacos and burritos at this grocery store often for lunch. Very few people know they make them fresh unless they shop. We also get most of our groceries here, for instance we get the espresso, milk and chocolate here so we can offer free coffee drinks during our Tuesday open jazz nights. They also have a nice selection of herbal medicine teas and mixtures, in bags or loose.

2. Super Sub, 1048 N. Ashland Ave, When it’s a late event and we need something good and affordable at say 3am or 4am, we head straight for the burgers, hot dogs and gyros. Especially Tuesday early nights they have a dollar special where a lot of meals are just $1. Yes, they have cheese fries.

3. China Court, 1146 N Milwaukee Ave, Under new management they added a lot to their menu. Our favorites include Ginger and Basil Fried Rice and the Beef and Broccoli  Best part is no headaches after eating means no MSG. And they are affordable.

4. Ameer Kabob, 1050 N Milwaukee Ave., Excellent Middle Eastern food. The people are serious about their food and culture with a nice modest and clean atmosphere. The chicken and beef shawarmas are tasty and affordable meal options. And they are almost right next door to multikulti. Jason likes his fries with vinegar and they gladly accommodate.

5. ACE Hardware, 1013 N Ashland Ave. We buy all our toilet paper, garbage bags and cleaning supplies here. The first time we got toilet paper the manager looked at our 96 count box and jokingly said “You must service a lot of assholes.”
