In Memory of Pete Cosey
Pete Cosey
Pete Cosey died on May 30, 2012 of complications following surgery at Vanguard Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Although he had spent most of his life in Chicago, he had most recently been living in Evanston Illinois. He was survived by five children and six grandchildren.
Pete Cosey has been known for his musical talent with the guitar and in groups like Miles Davis. Friends and family of his joined in Chicago from around the world to celebrate his life with music.
There was a jazz ensemble organized by Vincent Davis group in honor of Pete Cosey Thursday June 16 from 4-6pm at the SGI-USA Chicago Culture Center in Chicago.
There was also an open after gathering and performance by the same group with members from around the world who have performed with Miles Davis at multikulti.
