T.R.I.B.E.S. Radio as easy as Pi

This little device is a full computer called a Raspberry Pi and it powers from a cell phone charger. This device has just been configured to relay our internet radio stream “TRIBES” radio to an AM transmitter in Logan Square. It is setup to be turnkey and failproof requiring no user input to work. Just plug in and go! Thanx to a Linux program called MPC. Even if there is an internet disconnect the radio will automatically resume once the internet connection is restored.

TRIBES radio is a community radio station at multikulti run by the Q4 Tribe and multikulti. There are currently slots open for hosts and show programmers with an emphasis on community, arts and activism.

The internet radio is streaming from que4.org/radio and mkchi.org/radio 24/7 and we will be on the air in Logan Square at the bottom of the AM dial, 1710AM.

The transmitter is being tested and installed. We are days away from being on the air.
