Coalition Against NATO / G8
The Coalition Against NATO/G8 War & Poverty Agenda (CANG8) is organizing protests at the NATO and G8 meetings being held in Chicago in May 2012. On August 28 2011, a coalition was formed to protest the NATO/G8 summits being held in Chicago on May 19-21 2012. Over 80 organizations participated in this founding meeting. The coalition voted to organize a legal, permitted, family friendly march and rally on May 19. Additionally, it was later decided to convene a People’s Summit on May 12-13. United Taxidrivers Community Council
The United Taxidrivers Community Council (UTCC) was founded in January 2008, representing the unification of the bases of several grassroots taxi driver-led struggles throughout the previous year. We do not represent clients in criminal cases, but after our investigation is completed, outside counsel may bring new evidence of innocence to court. Our fundamental goal is to expose and remedy wrongdoing by the criminal justice system.
Global Climate Convergence Chicago
The Global Climate Convergence for People, Planet and Peace over Profit is an education and direct action campaign beginning this spring, with “10 days to change course,” running from Earth Day to May Day. It provides coordinated action and collaboration across fronts of struggle and national borders to harness the transformative power we already possess as a thousand separate movements. These grassroots justice movements are sweeping the globe, rising up against the global assault on our shared economy, ecology, peace and democracy. The accelerating climate disaster, which threatens to unravel civilization as soon as 2050, intensifies all of these struggles and creates new urgency for collaboration and unified action. The Convergence creates a unifying call for a solution as big as the crisis barreling down on us – an emergency Green Economic Transformation through a Global Green New Deal including universal jobs, health care, education, food and housing security, economic and political democracy, demilitarization, an end to deportations, and 100% clean renewable energy by 2030. Earth Day Chicago
We’re marching to protest some of the biggest climate criminals and economic parasites and issuing them cease and desist letters from the people. On this march, we will stop by Boeing, a big polluting military contractor that reaps massive profits on the war machine as well as BP, a gigantic fossil fuel polluter. We will also stop off at Chase headquarters. Chase is a huge investor in many climate killing projects, and one of the principle “too big to fail” destroyers of our economy and communities. Finally we will head to Congress and Michigan where Food Not Bombs Pilsen is serving food to everyone for a “people’s picnic”. There will also be spoken word, singing, and other entertainment for people to enjoy.

We are a new organization based in Chicago that grew out of the Occupy rebellion and whose goal is to replace the oligarchy in the U.S. with democracy. A grassroots political activist organization with the goal of wholesale replacement of the plutocratic oligarchy now ruling the USA with a system of democracy where rule is accomplished by the people. No longer will we have elected representatives, instead government will consist of Community Assemblies and Executive Councils. Sortition rather than election will be the means of establishing members.
